Tree Vandalism

Strathfield Council was recently awarded State Government funding to plant 1,065 trees along adjoining areas to the Cooks River. This area is heavily impacted by heat, lack of canopy cover and dust in the atmosphere.

Part of the reason the trees were planted was to improve the environmental conditions for our local community, and to beautify and improve the greenspace available in this area.

Disappointingly, 45 trees have now been vandalised resulting in funds being relocated from other projects to fix this issue. The trees that have been planted for this project are to benefit many generations to come.

Damaging trees is an act of vandalism and can result in a fine, regardless of the age and size of the tree.
