Re-home your unwanted goods!

Spring has sprung! It’s time to get your spring cleaning gloves on and refresh and recycle your unwanted goods at our annual “Strathfield Spring Clean Up” events to reduce our impact on landfill.

In theme with National Recycling Week 2024, Strathfield Council is hosting two annual drop-off events at the Strathfield Council Depot (1 Weerona Road, Strathfield) – Chemical CleanOut Day (Sunday 24 November) and Recycle & Refresh Weekend (Saturday 30 November – Sunday 1 December). These events are for residents to responsibly re-home or dispose goods that should not be put in your usual household bin.

This event is for Strathfield LGA residents only – Please bring along proof of address.

Accepted items (maximum of 10 items per vehicle per day):

  • Textiles in good condition (i.e., clothing, shoes, towels) - Note: 1 bag of textiles is considered as 1 item.
  • Household furniture in good condition (i.e., chairs, tables, couches)
  • Homewares (i.e., toys, sporting items, baby equipment)
  • Bicycles in good condition
  • E-Waste (i.e., TVs, computers)
  • Electrical appliances
  • Mattresses (Limit 2 per vehicle)
  • White goods (i.e., fridges, washing machines)

Here are a few tips to ensure a seamless drop-off at our Refresh & Recycle Weekend event.

  • All textiles should be bagged and labelled with what is inside
  • Disassembled furniture should be tied together for easy transport.
  • Electrical appliances and white goods should be labelled with their condition (i.e., working, requires repairs (please specify), not working).
