Strathfield Council hosts a variety of annual events from large festivals to movies under the stars. Below is an outline of our major and community events. Check the Events Calendar for dates and all the fun things happening right now!

Strathfield Spring Festival

First Saturday of September – Strathfield Park

Gather the family and celebrate the start of Spring! Strathfield Council’s largest calendar event is always a crowd pleaser with children’s performers, a garden with environmental activities, live entertainment, market stalls, carnival rides, fun games and pony rides. 

 

Homebush Vibes

Late May – Rochester Street, Homebush

Discover what makes Homebush a local dining destination with an array of different food to choose from, live music and activities your little ones are sure to enjoy!

 

Strathfield Christmas Carols

Saturday in December – Strathfield Park

End the year with a bit of magic and festivity at the Strathfield Christmas Carols! Have a dance off with Santa, sing your favourite carols and, snuggle up with a Christmas movie as we look forward to the new year.

 

Australia Day

26 January – Strathfield Town Centre

Australia Day gives the local community a chance to celebrate what we love about Australia, provide recognition to local citizens and welcome new Australian citizens who call Strathfield their home.

 

Movies in the Park

October to March – Strathfield Park

Pack a picnic, throw down a rug and enjoy free movie screenings right under the stars. There’s 8 different movies to choose from and you can attend them all!

 

International Womens’ Day

March – Strathfield Town Hall

Strathfield Council celebrates International Women’s Day in March with a morning tea. The event is attended by local schools, organisations and local women of all types. Money is raised on the day for a local charity working with girls and women.

 

Moon Festival

Last Saturday of September – Henley Road, Homebush West

Dine under the stars and celebrate the Moon Festival with a LED lion dance and live music.

 

National Tree Day

July - Various Parks

Roll up your sleeves, put on your gloves and plant a seed of hope as you participate in the country’s largest community tree planting and nature-care event.

 

Seniors Week

March - Various Venues

Celebrate seniors week with a variety of events each year, including concerts, morning teas, outings and more.
