On display until 08 November 2024, 04:00 PM

Public Notice: Road work continuing on Marlborough Road, Homebush West from Tuesday 8 October 2024

Transport for NSW is carrying out footpath and pedestrian safety upgrades on Marlborough Road, Homebush West.

So far, we have installed new lanterns in the pedestrian tunnel and new kerb ramps and line marking on the northbound side of Marlborough Road.

We had expected to complete the remaining work in September. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, this work will now be completed by Friday 8 November 2024.

What work are we doing next?

Remaining work activities to be completed include:

  • installing new light posts and lanterns along the pedestrian footpath after the tunnel exit
  • extending the concrete medians at Austin Avenue and constructing new footpaths and kerb ramps
  • carrying out maintenance work including clearing and trimming overgrown vegetation and litter collection.

Further information on the project location is shown on the map below.

Our work schedule

We will be on site for up to 14 night shifts between Tuesday 8 October and Friday 8 November 2024, weather permitting.

Our night work hours will be between Monday to Thursday, 8pm and 5am the next day. We will not work:

  • on Saturday or Sunday nights to reduce impacts to Sydney Market operations.
  • between Thursday 17 October and Wednesday 23 October 2024 to minimise impacts to planned major events at Sydney Olympic Park.

What will this mean for you and how will we manage it?

Some of our work needs to be carried out at night to minimise disruption to traffic and reduce safety risks to our workers, pedestrians, and motorists.

It may be noisy at times, but we will do everything we can to reduce our impacts by:

  • completing the noisier tasks by midnight
  • installing noise blankets around our work when carrying out noisy activities
  • using quieter equipment where possible.
