New Councillors Sworn In and Mayor and Deputy Mayor Elected

At its first ordinary meeting on Tuesday 8 October 2024, the new Council for the 2024-2028 term were sworn in.

As elected by the residents of Strathfield, the following Councillors took the Oath of Office:

  • John-Paul Baladi
  • Matthew Blackmore
  • Benjamin Cai
  • Esther Kim
  • Rory Nosworthy
  • Karen Pensabene
  • Sandy Reddy

Following the Oath of Office, Cr John-Paul Baladi was elected Mayor and Cr Benjamin Cai elected Deputy Mayor.

Mayor Baladi thanked his team, family and former Strathfield Council Mayor Gulian Vaccari for their support in his election campaign. The new Mayor stated " I am honoured to be elected Mayor of Strathfield and look forward to working with all my fellow Councillors for the betterment of our community."

The new Councillors, Mayor and Deputy Mayor were welcomed and congratulated by the General Manager, Michael Mamo, members of the Executive Team, Council staff and members of the audience.
